So you’ve written a script. Congratulations! That’s a big accomplishment.
BUT YOU AREN’T DONE YET!
You proudly hand it off to fellow screenwriters knowing they will tell you how glorious your script is and how they MUST see it on the big screen TODAY, but instead they give you feedback! You mean your first draft isn’t perfect?
Now comes the hard part — REWRITING!
Join WGA screenwriter Diane Mettler as she explains techniques for rewriting and how and when to incorporate notes.
Diane Mettler is a member of the WGA (Writers Guild of America) and participates as a judge for the WGA writing awards. She has optioned several feature scripts, written shorts, directed and produced a documentary, RAISING GIANTS, and written a Hallmark Channel romantic comedy, GROWING THE BIG ONE.
Diane has won and placed in a number of regional and national contests including Austin Film Festival and Nicholl Fellowship, among others.
She’s currently working on a documentary about an unknown rock festival that took over a town in 1970, as well as a romantic comedy series.
Diane enjoys instructing almost as much as writing, and has received the Teaching Excellence Award from the University of Washington. A number of her students have gone on to win and place in screenwriting competitions and write and produce their own films.
